Simsbury Farms is 6,509 yards in length, and was designed by renowned architect Geoffrey Cornish. The course opened for play in 1972. And is recognized as one of the top courses in New England by the New England Journal of Golf,
During the last 10 years the course has changed significantly under the guidance of Superintendent Mike Wallace and an ambitious renovation plan.
Most recently the course renovated its entire complex of bunkers. Douglas Beach, a Simsbury resident and longtime architect for Jack Nicklaus, redesigned all of the course’s bunkers as well as adding new bunkers in keeping with modern golf course architecture. The results have been outstanding. During the next five years additional changes and enhancements are forthcoming. We hope you will visit us often and enjoy the esthetics the course offers as well as a great round of golf. In the fall you might even enjoy one of many apples or pears from the trees within the course. The course was built on the site of the old Orkil Farms Orchard and many of the orchards trees still exist on the course.
“The Farms” provides an excellent test of golf for players of all levels. A driving range and large practice green are available to all players. Click the TAB Reviews above or below to see what recent players think about the course.
